Bad Science – Ben Goldacre

By | February 18, 2011

I was a scientist once, or was it twice? Anyhow, a scientific background often seems to generate an evidence-based approach to a lot of life’s ups and downs, and also cultivates a sceptical attitude towards all forms of quackery and pseudo-science. Ben Goldacre is my hero; he wrote a book called Bad Science; he writes a weekly column in the Guardian called Bad Science, and he appears in a number of YouTube videos talking about Bad Science. He is a doctor; he knows what he is talking about, and I agree with him.

John – I couldn’t agree with you more!

Absolutely love the Bad Science blog and column – really brings it home to you how often people abandon rational thought and follow the headline. And how scary it is that people get away with sweeping statements and pseudo science without any basis in fact.
